Membership
On a regular basis throughout the year we offer a Membership Class. It usually takes place at 4 PM through 7 on a Sunday afternoon with a simple meal included. During this time we provide an overview of what it means to be a part of the Free Methodist movement and specifically what life is like at Trulls. It’s a great place to learn more and ask questions on your journey to consider joining as a member. After this, an interview takes place with our Membership Care Team where we review your familiarity with things FMC and get to know your own personal commitment of faith. That leads to a recommendation by the Membership Care Team to the Official Board for membership.
We know there is no particular chapter and verse reference to becoming a church member but we believe there are lots of reasons that suggest that this is a wise thing to do in recognition of the biblical images of being a part of the body of Christ, the family of God.
Baby Dedications
Jesus welcomed children with open arms. We seek to follow his example and try to come alongside of parents as they seek to raise their children in the ways of Christ. We offer a service of dedication during our worship times for parents whereby parents give thanks for the gift God has given with each child while committing themselves to raising their children to the best of their ability under God’s principles and guidance. Interestingly, the Free Methodists allow for Infant Baptism as well. Please call the church office or speak with one of the pastoral staff should you be interested in dedicating your child or children.

Weddings
Congratulations on your Engagement!
We, as Christians and members of Trulls Road Free Methodist Church, believe that marriage is a sacred covenant between God and a man and a woman who love each other. The wedding ceremony is a celebration and public declaration of this loving covenant and is therefore first and foremost a worship service. Due to this sacred understanding of marriage and the wedding ceremony, we do not perform civil ceremonies.
We are pleased that you are considering us for your wedding ceremony. Please contact the church office and we will be happy to offer you an Application for Marriage document. We have prepared a package with guidelines, policies and fees that will help your decision to proceed.
Baptisms
Just as a wedding ring is an outward expression of marriage, Baptism is an outward expression of a commitment to follow Jesus Christ. If you have made a commitment to follow Christ as your Saviour and the leader of your life, then Scripture demonstrates Baptism is a vital next step for you. Celebrate your relationship with Christ in the company of your friends, family, and others who have decided to declare what Christ has done for them and what he means to you. Trulls Road offers Baptism classes & indoor immersion Baptism at select times throughout the year.
Holy Communion
We follow the Lord’s command to remember his sacrificial death through observing Communion on a regular basis – normally on the first Sunday of each month. All believers are welcome to join in and share in this meal, which nourishes our body and soul. Here are some links to articles on Communion and in particular, one about Holy Communion and children.

Prayer Ministry
We have a valued practice at Trulls that is somewhat unique and we wanted to explain it to you here. It may be a context for prayer that is unfamiliar to you in a worship service.
We have prayer rails or kneeling stations at the front of our worship sanctuary. Often we will provide a time during our services for anyone to come to the rails and kneel while we are singing or praying as a congregation. Others will come and gather around you and pray along with you and for you although not knowing the reason for your coming forward to pray. It’s a wonderful expression of Christian love and community. Someone will offer to pray with you while you kneel and you can choose to have that person pray with you personally or simply humble yourself in a prayerful attitude. We have found this to be an encouraging time – maybe you will too!
